Kelly McLaughlin walked to open the first. Rachel Barcena was safe on an error sending
McLaughlin to second. Haley Dusek’s bunt
to first was fielded and thrown to third to force McLaughlin. Barcena and Dusek moved up on a wild
pitch. Courtney Schwan walked to load
the bases. Alex DeStephano doubled to
left center to score Barcena and Dusek and to move Schwan to third. Alexa Ostrander’s sacrifice bunt scored
Schwan and sent DeStephano to third.
Celine Woo’s grounder to third was fumbled allowing DeStephano to
score. Woo then stole second. Kylie Ostrander was safe on an error by the
third baseman as Woo held at second.
Becca Sorensen doubled to left to score Woo and to move Ostrander to
third. Kelly McLaughlin singled to
center to score Ostrander and Sorensen.
Haley Dusek was safe on an error by the second baseman to open
the second. Courtney Schwan’s ground out
moved Dusek to second. Dusek then stole
third. Alex DeStephano grounded to third
to score Dusek. When the throw to first was
wide, DeStephano was safe. Alex
Ostrander singled to center to move DeStephano to second. Celine Woo doubled to right center to score
DeStephano and Ostrander. Woo took third
on a wild pitch. Kylie Ostrander
walked. Becca Sorensen tapped out pitcher
to first to move Ostrander to second as Woo stayed at third. Kelly McLaughlin singled to right center to
score Woo and Ostrander.
Alex DeStephano doubled to left center with one out in the
third. Alexa Ostrander singled to left
to move DeStephano to third. After a
second out DeStephano scored on a wild pitch.
Alexis Mendez pinch hit and singled to center to open the
fourth. Sarah Sorensen pinch hit and
tripled to right center to score Mendez.
Rachel Sorensen pinch hit and walked.
Abby McDonald grounded out second to first to score Sarah Sorensen.
Mountain Empire used a two-out solo home run to get a run in
the fifth. On the home run Alexis Mendez
crashed into the fence and was taken out of the game.
With all the strike outs there was not even one assist on
defense for the Lions.
Rachel Barcena started and pitched 3 innings to get the
win. She struck out 8 including the side
in order in the first and the side again in the second. Sarah Sorensen pitched the last two innings
to get the save. She struck out 4 and
gave up only one hit.
