Olympia used an error, a bunt single, and a ground ball to center to get a run in the first.

Kelly McLaughlin singled to center to open the first.  Alexa Ostrander put down a perfect sacrifice bunt and beat it out for a single to move McLaughlin to second.  After an out Courtney Schwan singled to left to score McLaughlin.

With one out in the fourth Courtney Schwan doubled over the left fielder’s head.  Becca Sorensen courtesy ran for Schwan.  Alex DeStephano tripled to the fence in left center to score Sorensen.

Olympia used two singles, a walk, and a two out error to get a run in the sixth.

Haley Dusek singled to center to open the sixth.  Courtney Schwan singled to left to move Dusek to second.  Madeline Lilly courtesy ran for Schwan.  After an out Rachel Barcena crushed a drive deep into left center that the center fielder just outran to make a great lunging catch which kept the runners on second and first.  Becca Sorensen pinch hit.  With a 2-2 count she fouled off two pitches.  Then she hit a low blooper that the shortstop charged and dove for but couldn’t catch.  Haley Dusek was not content to just take third on Sorensen’s single.  Dusek ran hard all the way from second and just slid in safely to beat the throw to the plate.

Olympia used a single, an error, a sacrifice bunt, and a sacrifice fly to get a run in the seventh.

Kelly McLaughlin worked the pitcher for a walk to open the seventh.  After two outs Courtney Schwan grounded a single to center.  McLaughlin was going to third all the way which put pressure on their center fielder.  When she fumbled the ball, McLaughlin slid into home with the winning run.

Good defensive plays were made by Rachel Barcena who went to her knees to catch a line shot to end the 3rd; by Alexa Ostrander who went to her left to field a grounder and while on her knees threw to first where Alex DeStephano scooped the ball out of the dirt for the first out in the 4th; by Kylie Ostrander who with the bases loaded and two out raced back and to the line and reached down to catch the ball in the webbing of her glove to save three runs and end the 4th; by Kelly McLaughlin who used every inch of her height to catch a rising liner for the second out in the 6th; by Alex DeStephano who alertly backed up an overthrow from the outfield in the 6th; and by Rachel Barcena who with runners on second and first charged a bunt and gunned the throw to Haley Dusek covering first for the first out in the 7th.

Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She struck out 6 and walked only one.  All three runs against her were unearned.
