Bellarmine 2 Stadium 1

      Stadium used a leadoff home run to get a run in the fourth.
      With one out in the fourth Haley Dusek worked the count full and then walked.  After a second out Dusek stole second.  The shortstop was able to knock down Alex DeStephano’s single which moved Dusek to third.  The third baseman thought Dusek was going to slide into third.  But there was no throw, and Dusek kept going.  Dusek bumped into the third baseman as she rounded third.  Even though the ball beat Dusek to the plate, she was awarded home due to interference on the third baseman.  Sarah Sorensen followed with a single to right which made the run earned.
      Kelly McLaughlin singled down the third base line to open the seventh.  Alexa Ostrander put down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move McLaughlin to second.  McLaughlin took third on a wild pitch.  After a second out Courtney Schwan fell behind in the count 1-2.  She then singled into left to score McLaughlin with the winning run.
      Good defensive plays were made by Alex DeStephano who charged in to field a bunt and fired to Haley Dusek covering first for the first out in the 3rd; by Haley Dusek who went way to her right to field a grounder and threw to Alex DeStephano who made a nice stretch for the second out in the 3rd; by Celine Woo who short hopped a grounder to third and threw the batter out at first for the first out in the 4th; by Alex DeStephano who caught a line drive for the second out in the 4th; by Courtney Schwan who threw to Alexa Ostrander (KEY PLAY OF THE GAME) who was covering third to catch the runner trying a delayed steal for the first out in the 5th; by Abby McDonald who chased down a wild third strike and fired a seed to first to get the second out in the 7th; and by Celine Woo who went to her left to field a grounder and threw the batter out at first to end the 7th.
      Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She struck out 9 including the side in order in the second and walked none.  She gave up 6 hits and just one run.

      Olympia used an error, a bunt single, and a ground ball to center to get a run in the first.

      Kelly McLaughlin singled to center to open the first.  Alexa Ostrander put down a perfect sacrifice bunt and beat it out for a single to move McLaughlin to second.  After an out Courtney Schwan singled to left to score McLaughlin.

      With one out in the fourth Courtney Schwan doubled over the left fielder’s head.  Becca Sorensen courtesy ran for Schwan.  Alex DeStephano tripled to the fence in left center to score Sorensen.

      Olympia used two singles, a walk, and a two out error to get a run in the sixth.

      Haley Dusek singled to center to open the sixth.  Courtney Schwan singled to left to move Dusek to second.  Madeline Lilly courtesy ran for Schwan.  After an out Rachel Barcena crushed a drive deep into left center that the center fielder just outran to make a great lunging catch which kept the runners on second and first.  Becca Sorensen pinch hit.  With a 2-2 count she fouled off two pitches.  Then she hit a low blooper that the shortstop charged and dove for but couldn’t catch.  Haley Dusek was not content to just take third on Sorensen’s single.  Dusek ran hard all the way from second and just slid in safely to beat the throw to the plate.

      Olympia used a single, an error, a sacrifice bunt, and a sacrifice fly to get a run in the seventh.

      Kelly McLaughlin worked the pitcher for a walk to open the seventh.  After two outs Courtney Schwan grounded a single to center.  McLaughlin was going to third all the way which put pressure on their center fielder.  When she fumbled the ball, McLaughlin slid into home with the winning run.

      Good defensive plays were made by Rachel Barcena who went to her knees to catch a line shot to end the 3rd; by Alexa Ostrander who went to her left to field a grounder and while on her knees threw to first where Alex DeStephano scooped the ball out of the dirt for the first out in the 4th; by Kylie Ostrander who with the bases loaded and two out raced back and to the line and reached down to catch the ball in the webbing of her glove to save three runs and end the 4th; by Kelly McLaughlin who used every inch of her height to catch a rising liner for the second out in the 6th; by Alex DeStephano who alertly backed up an overthrow from the outfield in the 6th; and by Rachel Barcena who with runners on second and first charged a bunt and gunned the throw to Haley Dusek covering first for the first out in the 7th. 

      Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She struck out 6 and walked only one.  All three runs against her were unearned.

      Central Kitsap used a walk, a stolen base, and two ground outs to get a run in the first.

      Kelly McLaughlin hit a grounder that the third baseman could not handle to open the first.  Alexa Ostrander put down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move McLaughlin to second.  When the first baseman threw the bunt away at first, McLaughlin took third and Ostrander was safe at first.  Ostrander then stole second.  Haley Dusek walked to load the bases.  Courtney Schwan hit a sacrifice fly to right to score McLaughlin and to move Ostrander to third.  Dusek then stole second.  Alex DeStephano singled to left to score Ostrander and Dusek.

      Alex DeStephano singled to right center with two out in the third.  Rachel Barcena was hit by a pitch to move DeStephano to second.  Rachel Sorensen grounded a single to right to score DeStephano.

      Alexis Mendez walked to open the fourth.  After an out Alexa Ostrander singled to center to move Mendez to second.  Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch.  Haley Dusek grounded out second to first to score Mendez and to move Ostrander to third.  Courtney Schwan singled off the shortstop to score Ostrander.

      Central Kitsap used a walk, a wild pitch, a sacrifice, and a wild pitch to get a run in the fifth.

      Rachel Barcena singled to center to open the fifth.  Rachel Sorensen walked to move Barcena to second.  Becca Sorensen pinch hit.  Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch.  Becca Sorensen walked to load the bases.  Alexis Mendez hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Barcena.  When the right fielder dropped the ball, the bases were again loaded.  Kelly McLaughlin singled to left to score Rachel Sorensen.  On an 0-2 pitch Alexa Ostrander ripped a triple to right center to score Becca Sorensen, Mendez, and McLaughlin.  Haley Dusek crushed the very next pitch to the fence in right center for a home run scoring Ostrander before her.

      Good defensive plays were made by Rachel Barcena who knocked a shot to third down and threw the batter out for the first out in the 1st; by Alexa Ostrander who went to her left to field a grounder and threw the batter out for the second out in the 1st; by Alex DeStephano who dug out a low throw to first for the final out in the 3rd; by Courtney Schwan who deflected a drive up the middle which Haley Dusek then pounced on and threw the batter out for the first out in the 4th; and by Alex DeStephano who charged a bunt and made a perfect throw to Haley Dusek covering first for the second out in the 5th. 

      Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She gave up only two hits and one earned run.  She retired 13 of the final 15 batters.  She also helped herself defensively by getting three assists in the fourth inning.

      Alex DeStephano singled to center to open the fourth.  Rachel Sorensen singled to right to move DeStephano to second.  Alexa Ostrander put down a nice sacrifice bunt to move the runners to third and second.  Becca Sorensen followed with another nice sacrifice bunt to score DeStephano.

      Kelly McLaughlin beat out an infield single to open the fifth.  McLaughlin then stole second.  Rachel Barcena grounded out second to first to move McLaughlin to third.  Haley Dusek hit a sacrifice fly to center to score McLaughlin.

      Shelton used a walk, a single, a force at second, a stolen base, and an infield out to get a run in the sixth.

      Haley Dusek singled to center to open the seventh.  Courtney Schwan doubled to right center to score Dusek.

      Good defensive plays were made by Alex DeStephano who charged a bunt and threw to Haley Dusek who covered first for the first out in the 3rd; by Alexa Ostrander who charged in on a slow roller and threw the batter out at first for the first out in the 5th; by Haley Dusek who (with runners on first and second) outran a ground ball up the middle and flipped to Alexa Ostrander who covered second for the first out in the 6th; and by Alexa Ostrander who with runners on third and second went way to her left to field a grounder headed into center and gunned the batter out at first for the second out in the 6th. 

      Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She struck out 9 including the side in the seventh.  She gave up only one run and three hits.

      South Kitsap used a walk, a stolen base, a single, a sacrifice and a throwing error, and a single to get two runs in the first.
      South Kitsap used a single, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and another wild pitch to get a run in the third.
      Haley Dusek drove the first pitch into center for a single to open the third.  Courtney Schwan rifled a shot that short hopped the center field fence for a double to score Dusek.  Becca Sorensen courtesy ran for Schwan.  Alex DeStephano singled to left to score Sorensen.  DeStephano took second on the throw to the plate.  Rachel Barcena put down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move DeStephano to third.  After a second out Rachel Sorensen singled to center to score DeStephano.
      South Kitsap used an infield single, a stolen base, a single, another stolen base, and a single to get two runs in the fifth.
      Kelly McLaughlin doubled to right center to open the fifth.  Sarah Sorensen singled to left to move McLaughlin to third.  Sorensen alertly took second on the throw to third.  After an out Courtney Schwan hit a sacrifice fly to center to score McLaughlin and to move Sorensen to third.  Alex DeStephano singled to left to score Sorensen.
      South Kitsap used a single, two infield outs, and an error to get a run in the seventh.
      Sarah Sorensen singled with one out in the seventh.  Haley Dusek dropped a bunt up the first base line and beat it out for a single to move Sorensen to second.  Courtney Schwan hit a shot to third that was knocked down for a single to load the bases.  Becca Sorensen courtesy ran for Schwan.  Alex DeStephano fell behind in the count 0-2.  She then worked the count to 2-2.  DeStephano then ripped a double to left center to score Sarah Sorensen with the tying run and Haley Dusek with the winning run.
      Good defensive plays were made by Courtney Schwan who caught a line drive for the second out in the 2nd; by Kelly McLaughlin who chased down a double, hit Alexa (the cut off person) Ostrander, who threw to Rachel Barcena who caught the ball and tagged the batter out trying to stretch a double into a triple for the second out in the 4th; by Abby McDonald who pounced on a bunt and threw the batter out at first to end the 4th; by Courtney Schwan who fielded a come backer and threw the batter out at first for the first out in the 6th; and by Courtney Schwan who with the runner on the move fielded a come backer and threw the batter out at first for the first out in the 7th. 
      Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the win.  She struck out 9 (including the side in the first) and walked two.  Half of the runs against her were unearned.
