      Becca Sorensen doubled to left to open the game.  After an out Courtney Schwan beat out an infield single to move Sorensen to third.  Mikaela Kelly courtesy ran for Schwan.  After a second out Rachel Barcena singled to left to score Sorensen.

      Alyssa McKiernan drove a 2-1 pitch over the left field fence for a home run to lead off the third.

      Kamiakin used a single, a sacrifice, a double, a bad hop infield single and a throwing error, an infield out, and a single to get three runs in the third.

      With two outs and a full count the batter swung and missed but reached first when the ball bounced to the backstop.  Kamiakin used that, an error, and a sinking drive to right that turned into a home run to get three runs in the fifth.

      Kamiakin used a single, a stolen base, and an error to get a run in the sixth.

      Courtney Schwan started and went the distance.  She struck out seven including the first three batters in the fifth and walked none.  Only three of Kamiakin’s runs were earned.

      Good defensive plays were made by Rachel Barcena who fielded a blooper in right on one bounce and threw to Alyssa McKiernan covering second to force the lead runner for the second out in the 2nd and by Alex DeStephano who scooped a low throw out of the dirt for the first out in the 4th.

      Richland used five singles and a double to get five runs in the first.

      Richland used a solo home run to get a run in the third.

      Richland used two doubles and a single to get two runs in the fourth.

      Alyssa McKiernan tripled down the right field line with one out in the sixth.  Courtney Schwan grounded out to score McKiernan.  Alex DeStephano doubled to the fence in left center.  Rachel Barcena beat out an infield single to move DeStephano to third.  Erica Grenlund bounced a single to right to score DeStephano.

      Richland used a single, a home run, three more singles, and an infield out to get four runs in the sixth.

      Courtney Schwan started and pitched the first two innings and struck out two.  Rachel Barcena pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out four.  Erica Grenlund pitched to three batters in the sixth.

      Two more milestones were reached.  Ashlynn Ota got her first varsity hit with a leadoff single to left to open the fifth and then stole her first base.  Erica Grenlund got her first varsity hit with a RBI single to right in the sixth.

      Good defensive plays were made by Celine Woo who fielded a grounder and got the runner from second in a run down and tagged her out for the first out in the 1st; by Rachel Barcena who called off the second baseman and caught a shallow fly in right center for the first out in the 2nd; by Ashlynn Ota who held on to a fouled third strike for the first out in the 4th; by Celine Woo who charged a slow roller and fired to Becca Sorensen who covered first for the second out in the 4th; and by Rachel Barcena who caught a pop-up bunt and fired to Alex DeStephano to double the runner off of first for a double play to end the 5th.

      Moses Lake used a lead off ground single to center, a one out deflected infield single, and a two out bloop single that just hit the grass behind first base to get a run in the fifth.

      Courtney Schwan started and went the distance.  She struck out seven including the side in order in the third and walked only one.

      A milestone occurred when Alyssa McKiernan got her first varsity hit with a hard single to left in the fourth inning.

      Good defensive plays were made by Rachel Sorensen who caught a line drive to center to end the 1st; by Celine Woo who caught a foul bunt for the first out in the 5th; and by Becca Sorensen who had four assists and caught a soft liner in the sun to end the 6th. 

Game Canceled Today

The game against Puyallup has been canceled today.

Puyallup Game Rescheduled

The game against Puyallup is now scheduled for March 13 at Bellarmine starting at 4pm.

Important Dates and information for Bellarmine Softball

March 9th: JV and Varsity Jamboree at Bellarmine, 12pm

March 12 : JV and Varsity vs. Puyallup at Bellarmine, 4pm

March 15th: JV only game vs. North Thurston at the RAC in Lacey, 3:30pm

March 15th-17th: Varsity only trip to Eastern WA. Games at 4pm on Friday in Moses and 11am and 1pm on Saturday in Richland. Varsity players will receive more information on this trip

March 20th:  JV and Varsity vs. Yelm at Bellarmine, 4pm

March 22nd: JV and Varsity @. Olympia at Stevens Field, 4pm

March 25th: JV and Varsity vs. Gig Harbor at Bellarmine, 4pm (this is a rescheduled game from 4/1)

March 27th:  JV and Varsity @ North Thurston at North Thurston High School, 4pm

March 29th: The game against Mt. Tahoma has been canceled due to this being Good Friday.

April 1st: This game against GH has been moved to 3/25 due to this being Bellarmine's Spring Break

April 2nd. This game against Lincoln has been canceled due to this being Bellarmine's Spring Break.

April 27th: The Softball Program has its Annual Poker Fundraising Tournament on Saturday, April 27th this year. We ask the all parents (JV and Varsity) assist in making this tournament a success. It is always a fun evening, and raises much needed funds for the team. You will receive more information about the tournament soon.

Preseason Workouts Begin!

The Bellarmine Fastpitch captains have begun hosting preseason workouts in the Bellarmine fitness center Monday and Thursdays after school. If you have any interest in playing fastpitch, or just want a good workout, come out and join us!
