Bellarmine continued it's road winning streak, making it three wins in a row on the road, and now sees its league record at 4-1 going into Spring Break. The Lions jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, loading the bases in the first, but ended the rally early by hitting into a double play. That would be the storyline of the game, as Bellarmine had 17 baserunners reach base, but were only able to have 5 of those runners cross homeplate. However, 5 runs were more than enough for Anna Olson who pitched a complete game, striking out 8, and only giving up the one run.
8 of the 9 starters had hits for Bellarmine, leading the was Kelly McLaughlin who was 3-4 with a 3b and 2 RBIs. Haley Dusek and Leah Barta each had 2 hits.
Next up for the Lions is a non-league against Jefferson of the SPSL today (Thursday), then a week off for Bellarmine's Spring Break. The Lions jump right back into action when they return from break, traveling to Central Kitsap on the Monday they return.
