Emerald Ridge used an error, another error, a stolen base, a
single, and a third error to get two runs in the first.
Emerald Ridge used a single, a wild pitch, a walk, a single and
an error, and another error to get three runs in the second.
Emerald Ridge used a single, a sacrifice, an infield out, and a
wild pitch to get a run in the third.
Alex DeStephano singled to right to open the fourth. Courtney Schwan singled to center to move
DeStephano to third. Madeline Lilly
courtesy ran for Schwan. Sarah Sorensen
lashed the first pitch into right center for a triple scoring DeStephano and
Lilly. After two outs Rachel Barcena
beat out an infield single to short to score Sarah Sorensen.
Alexa Ostrander was hit by a pitch to open the fifth. Alex DeStephano singled to left to move
Ostrander to second. Courtney Schwan
singled to center to score Ostrander and to move DeStephano to third. Madeline Lilly courtesy ran for Schwan. Sarah Sorensen grounded to the second baseman
to score DeStephano while Lilly was forced at second. Becca Sorensen beat out an infield single to
move Sarah Sorensen to second. Rachel
Sorensen grounded a ball through the second baseman which scored Sarah Sorensen
and moved Becca Sorensen to third.
Rachel Sorensen then stole second.
Rachel Barcena singled to left to score Becca Sorensen and to move
Rachel Sorensen to third. Barcena then
stole second. After a second out Haley
Dusek singled to center to score Rachel Sorensen and Barcena.
Alex DeStephano doubled down the left field line to open the
sixth. Courtney Schwan singled to right
center to score DeStephano.
Good defensive plays were made by Alexa Ostrander who (with
runners on second and first) fielded a grounder in the hole and threw to Rachel
Barcena to get the lead runner at third for the second out in the 2nd; and by
Haley Dusek who went way to her right and threw to Alex DeStephano who made a
nice stretch for the first out in the 6th.
Courtney Schwan started and again went the distance for the
win. She struck out 4 and gave up only
one earned run. After we made six errors
in the first two innings, she took charge and dominated the rest of the
game. She threw just 50 pitches over the
last five innings.
This win put the Lions in the championship game.
